Indigenizing Science and Biomimicing Nature

In “Indigenizing Science and Biomimicing Nature,” Sara El-Sayd, Melissa K. Nelson and Lily Urmann draw upon an IHR Seed Grant to create a new podcast series and publication at the intersection of Biomimicry, an emerging STEM field of nature-inspired design, and Traditional Ecological Knowledge, or Indigenous Knowledge Systems. Their work will create a dialogue between practitioners in biomimicry and elders, practitioners, and Indigenous scholars and facilitate researchers juxtaposing their life histories in order to provide multiple understandings of the intersection between biomimicry and Indigenous knowledge systems.
