Description

Questions of the nature, meaning, and implementation of human rights, and in human rights research and education will be addressed. Contributions from and differences among humanities and social science approaches to human rights texts and discourses, movements and practices, and analysis and evaluation will also be explored.

The Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Human Rights and Social Justice cluster is an integral part of the ongoing efforts towards establishing an Interdisciplinary Center on Human Rights. The IHR seed grant on human rights, “Contesting Borders: International Human Rights,” will build upon the intellectual discussions facilitated by this cluster as well as other related initiatives. Our proposed research-focused forums thus work in tandem with the IHR seed grant and provide for important cross-fertilization of ideas that will build a foundation for the eventual establishment of an Interdisciplinary Center on Human Rights.
