Description

2012 is the UN International Year of the Co-Op!

This cluster will focus on cooperatives as innovative ways to foster community development in their efforts in 2012. You are invited to attend a seminar on February 7, where Victor Pestoff, Professor Emeritus at the Institute for Civil Society Studies at Ersta Sköndal University College in Stockholm, Sweden, will present on the topic. (Please see attached flier below for more information)

Research clusters bring together faculty from across campuses who are interested in progressive, innovative community development theory, processes and outcomes. ASU does not have a community development degree program, only courses across disciplines. This cluster is an opportunity to explore transdisciplinary research and learning opportunities. Hosting a venue where interested faculty can share ideas and explore common interests in community development will foster more interest and benefits to those involved. Research in this arena has grounding in both the humanities and social sciences, and as such, can serve as a platform for exploring cross disciplinary research and learning.

The Social Innovation and Community Development research cluster will be hosting a special event as part of the ASU Community Well-Being Collaborative December 6-7, 2012. Please see the attached Collaborative schedule or click here for more information.
