"Bodies in Revolt: The Volatile Politics of Women’s Body Hair" looks closely at how body hair moves from a personal grooming choice to something with much wider resonance in the broader cultural politics of women’s reproductive rights, feminist battlegrounds and even in global tensions around women’s “place” in society.

In her book, Fahs moves away from merely thinking about existing practices of body hair and instead looks specifically at the reverberations of women’s body hair rebellions. What happens when women use body hair as a form of contestation and revolt? How can body hair map onto bigger stories about patriarchy, power and the practices of revolution?
