Grants and Awards

Grants and awards at the Institute for Humanities Research create and imagine new futures for research and scholarship at ASU by funding humanities projects and publications.

Book Award nomination

The IHR Book Award celebrates outstanding writers whose contributions to the humanities change the conversation by fostering new directions for their discipline.

The Fellows Program provides funding for faculty to commit to a year of intensive research and work together to meaningfully present their work to the ASU community and the public.

Seed grants

The purpose of the IHR seed grant program is to empower the ASU community to imagine, innovate and create humanities research that reveals new ways of understanding the past and future.

Micro-residencies are collaborations among ASU humanities researchers and a visiting scholar or artist from outside of the Phoenix area.

Research clusters

Research cluster awards facilitate research and communication among scholars and enrich the intellectual climate of the university.

Subvention grants

A limited number of grants assist humanities faculty with subvention costs for single-authored and co-authored works in any language, including creative works.
